The definitive volume on functional graphic design for publicity purposes in Swiss industry. With a short Preface by the publisher, and a Prefatory word by Max Bill, a substantial Introduction and (10) Section contributions by the author, Hans Neuburg.
Categorical sections include: Materials for written and internal communication; Symbols and Trade-marks, etc.; Newspaper publicity; Documentation and information; Packaging for manufactured goods; Three-dimensional publicity; Outdoor and transportation signage; Miscellaneous (calendars, posters, greeting cards, etc.); Designing Industrial design by graphic artists; and Symbolism in industry. The volume ends with an Index of firms and Index of designers, photographers and agencies.
Heavily illustrated with 500 examples in black and white and color, most with simple captions (category, client, designer): stationary systems, trade-marks, newspaper advertising, packaging and more. Part of the excellent ABC Verlag series.
A nearly fine hardcover with a few faint marks to the glazed covers and edges. Remains of a sticker and a previous owner's name in red marker on the FFEP corner. A very good dust jacket with light wear, a chip to the head of spine, paper loss to the back, some tears to the top and bottom edges and tape repair. Despite any minor flaws, still a bright, fresh copy of a sought-after book. Highly recommended!
