Two Experimental Typographic Prints [Unknown]

Experimental Typographic Prints, 1969. 8.25 x 11.75, single-sided and signed by an unknown artist.

Two individual, collage-like constructions made from a variety of uppercase letters (one may be from the same alphabet), punctuation and slugs composed in uniquely abstract compositions. Letters are rotated and flipped, overlap and connect to make ligatures and new forms; orderly or expressive depending on how you look at it.

The non-representational arrangements evoke works by H. N. Werkman, Wolfgang Weingart (and his students) and Jack Stauffacher’s work from 2003. Printed in black ink only on off-white stock, each print is signed distinctively and dated “69” with green ink in the lower-left margins by an unknown artist, typographer or printer (perhaps from Switzerland or Germany). If you can legitimately identify this artist, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Near fine prints with a hint of wear to the corners and toning around the margins. Would look lovely framed.
