PDR — Pastore DePamphilis Rampone, Inc., Promotional Sales Folder with Inserts; not dated but c. 1987, around the same time when Rand designed the new PDR logo seen here. PDR Computer Impressions, 303 Park Avenue South, New York City, USA. 8.5 x 11, tri-fold folder with center pocket including (16) individual inserts and Bert DePamphilis’s business card inserted. The folder has been signed in plate “Paul Rand” in the upper-right corner. Inserts and Business Card presumably designed by Paul Rand (1914–1996). Uncommon. PDR Computer Impressions was a Computer Graphics Service specializing in Digital Black and White Pre-Press, Custom Line Art and Typography; and Process Color Separations. Excellent reference material highlighting pre-press and computer generated design and printing technologies with (16) single-sided sales sheets each explaining the specific service offered including: Text Manipulation, Complex Airbrushing, Movie Camera, Fine Line Work, Color Control (featuring 121 color combinations of Rand’s PDR logo), Three Dimensional Charts, Logo Creation (featuring variations of Rand’s NeXT logo), Before & After, Font Creation, Special Effects Typography, Step and Repeat Line Control, Charts and Graph, Organic & Geometric, Unlimited Outline Type, Transformations, and Cartagraphy [sic].

A good folder with wear and stress marks along the spine, edges and folds. There is an indentation from a vintage paper clip and the coated black areas have been lightly smudged. Interior inserts are nearly fine.
