A unique collection of (30) Lufthansa printed works including: tickets, decals, luggage tags, letterhead, pamphlets and booklets, menus, loose graphic identity sheets and more.

“In the early 1960s, Lufthansa took a decisive step in corporate communications by commissioning designer Otl Aicher and his group of HfG Ulm students to compile an integrative study, with a view to redesigning Lufthansa's visual aesthetic. An extensive but incomplete implementation of their plan began in 1963. Today it is considered to be one of the most pioneering corporate design solutions of the twentieth century” — Lufthansa + Graphic Design

Some items without dates but many appear to be printed in Germany between c. 1966—c. 1970 perhaps designed by Aicher’s team (Tomás Gonda, Fritz Querengässer, Hans (Nick) Roericht) or at least adhering to the original guidelines; with some variations. The (12) loose sheets have been removed from the official ”Lufthansa–Advertising Guidelines and Standards CGN XE 3” (see Manuals 1: Design & Identity Guidelines, Unit Editions, 2014)

(2) Lufthansa Passenger Tickets (used), 1970
(3) Lufthansa Luggage Decals, c. 1967

(1) Spanish ”Your Luggage” Pamphlet (folded once, unique color), 1970
(1) Container Program, Lufthansa Cargo and Perforated Display, c. 1969

(1) TLS on Lufthansa Letterhead (two-hole punched), 1971
(1) Reprint: Schedules "The Little Yellow Book" by Joachim Wachtel, 1980

(1) Oversized (11.625 x 11) Lufthansa First Class Menu (stapled), 1966
(1) Lufthansa First Class Menu (folded once), 1966
(1) Lufthansa Münster, Germany First Class Menu (folded once), n.d.
(2) Lufthansa Business Class Menus (folded once), 1968
(3) Economy Class Spirits and Cigarettes (duplicates, folded once)

(3) Perforated Color Swatches: Yellow and Blue Variations
(6) Lufthansa Logo/Symbol Reproduction Art; Various Sizes/Spacing
(3) Supercargo (!) Logo/Symbol Reproduction Art; Various Sizes

Overall very good original items with light handling, mostly to the menus. The oversized menu has moderate wear along the spine and edges. The logo/symbol reproduction art and color swatches are in fine condition. An excellent and interesting collection!
