IBM Annual Reports Collection [5 Reports Designed by Paul Rand]

Collection of IBM Annual Reports: 1959, 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967. Chairman, Thomas J. Watson, Jr., International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, New York and Stockholder Relations Department, 590 Madison Avenue, New York City. Five Individual Reports, 9 x 10.5, pp. 40. Designed by Paul Rand.

An excellent collection of five early IBM annual reports, which Paul Rand designed from 1957 to c. 1992 and helped establish a standard for American corporate communications. Rand’s practical grid-based design and fresh approaches helped advance IBM's dull financial documents into efficient and persuasive communication vehicles.

“The annual report is the most important line of communication to corporate shareholders. Rand designed them to be inviting, often by cropping in so close on details that they appeared to be of abstract artworks.” — Paul Rand by Steven Heller, 1999.

All issues nearly fine with mild wear to the edges and spines of the saddle stitched illustrated wrappers. Heavily illustrated throughout with black and white and color. Bright and clean interior pages.
