FUSE was an innovative experimental typography and design publication launched in 1991 by British graphic designer Neville Brody and art director and writer Jon Wozencroft. As a magazine and a digital type foundry, FUSE challenged conventions of visual communication through radical type design and theory. Leading international designers contributed radical fonts which were distributed via diskette (and later CD-ROM). It was a groundbreaking publication that explored the intersection of technology, design, language, and visual culture in the digital age. Through its provocative use of graphics, in both tangible and digital forms, FUSE was ahead of its time and continues to influence how typefaces are designed.
