This excellent, little known monograph is devoted to the prolific career of Italian modern graphic designer, Ettore Vitale (b. 1936). With a lengthy Introduction and Interview (including documentary photographs) with Vitale by Quintavalle; the Italian art historian. Heavily illustrated with over (400) black and white and (32) color client works from c. 1971–2000; some full-page with captions featuring: books, posters, exhibitions, corporate identity, television, catalogs, packaging and more.

The book presents the work for (18) clients including: Arflex, SNIA Viscosa, Italian Socialist Party (PSI), Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI), Comforto, Tecnolyte, Ceramiche della Robbia, Enea, Ente Fiuggi, IBM, Unione Italiana del Lavoro (Uil) and others. The back matter features more than (30) reprinted critical contributions by others from 1973-96, followed by a short biography and bibliography. Recommended!
