This 4th issue in the series explores Italian Futurism (and more broadly, Art Deco), which began just after 1900 and extended through the eraly 1940s. Richly illustrated throughout, it features works by Giacomo Balla, Fortunato Depero, Gino Severini, Umberto Boccioni, Enrico Prampolini, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and many others. Thoughtfully researched, with informative text that helps deepen the reader’s understanding of design history and graphic style. Includes a Depero designed die-cut waistcoat and theatrical card inserted in the pocket. Paper production notes and Graphic Style timeline laid-in.

Design & Style was a semi-annual journal of resource and inspiration dedicated to twentieth century art and design movements. It presented historic design and typography movements and their influence on contemporary graphic design with issues devoted to: Jugendstil, Streamline, Art Deco, Futurism, De Stijl, Surrealism, and Bauhaus. Each issue was lavishly printed with a variety of Mohawk Papers using various paper, printing and production techniques such as: die cutting, interesting folds, tipped-in plates and inserts, pop-ups and more.

A fine perfect-bound softcover book with stiff wrappers in its’ very good, original, unmailed publishers’ envelope. Collect them all!
