“During the 1978-1979 academic year, students, faculty and staff of the Cooper Union Design Center undertook the project of examining and suggesting improvements for the existing signage at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.” This slim booklet features the results of six Project Designers.
The new Guggenheim signage system sections include: Permanent Signage, Semi-Permanent Signage and Temporary Signage with text and images for: The Typeface (Wright), The Golden Section, Fabrication, Direction Signage Grid, etc. At least (20) example signs are featured: Main Entrance to Coat Check to Cafe Stanchion to Show Titling and Visitor Information and many more. With an Introduction (on the front cover, inside cover and subsequent page), Index, Acknowledgements and black and white and two-color examples throughout.
An uncommon booklet in good condition with moderate handling and light wear along the edges and spine top and bottom. Interior pages are unmarked.
