der Neubau der Allgemeinen Gewerbeschule Basel, 1962. Allgemeine Gewerbeschule (AGS), Basel, Switzerland. 8.75 x 8.75, pp. 48, German text. Design, typesetting and printing completed at Allgemeine Gewerbeschule, Basel. Photography by Paul and Esther Merkle.

Various contributions including: an introduction by Dr. Peter Zschokke, President of the Government's Department of Education followed by several texts from school officials related to: the AGS history from 1796 to 1961; the technical and art departments, and 25 years of planning and building by the important Swiss architect Hermann Baur (1894—1980) who is responsible for the school’s concrete complex.

Illustrated throughout with beautiful black and white photography, each with small captions. The back matter includes the school’s current directors, officials, employees and teachers for the school year 1961-62 including pioneering figures: Theo Ballmer, Walter Bodmer, Donald Brun, Robert Büchler, Johannes Burla, Theo Elbe, Kurt Hauert, Andreas His, Armin Hofmann, Hans Meier, Enzo Rösli, Emil Ruder, Peter von Arx and many more.
