Illustration in Japan 1946–95, GGG Books Special Issue No. 1, March 28, 1996, Ginza Graphic Gallery, Tokyo, Japan. 5.5 x 7.5, pp. 152 with Japanese and English text. Edited by Akira Uno and Ikko Tanaka. Designed by Ikko Tanaka and Taro Matsuyoshi. Printed in Japan.

This book was published as a companion to the exhibition “50 Years of Japanese Illustration” held at Ginza Graphic Gallery from December 1, 1995 – December 22, 1995. With two introductory essays: “The 50 Years of Japanese Illustration” by Ikko Tanaka and “A Unique Half Century: Design, Illustration, Art” by Ryoichi Enomoto.

Heavily illustrated in color with at least, one image per page and a List of Works (Japanese text only) at the end. A survey of 50 years of illustrative works by but not limited to: Yoshio Hayakawa, Ayao Yamana, Tadashi Ohashi, Kenji Ito, Yusaku Kamekura, Takashi Kono, Tadanori Yokoo, Keisuke Nagatomo, Koichi Sato, Shigeo Fukuda, Ryuichi Yamashiro, Kazumasa Nagai and many others.

A very good hardcover with soiling to the front and back white covers. Interior pages are fine with the original publisher’s torn and worn bellyband. Uncommon and hard to find in the United States.
