Die Schriften der City—Druck AG. Zürich [Type Specimen]

Die Schriften der City—Druck AG. Zurich, c. 1949. City—Druck AG. Zurich, Switzerland. Copy Nr. 168, 9 x 12, pp. 337, spiral-bound with German text. Printed in Switzerland with paper from Sihl; the important Zurich paper mill founded in 1935.

Featuring approx. (72) typefaces and styles classified by eight categories: Antiqua, Grotesk, Egyptienne, Gotisch/Fraktur, Diverse Schriften, Ornaments, Plakatschriften and Setzmaschinenschriften, each separated by a thick red or black tabbed divider.

The design of this book is anonymous yet, Walter Bangerter, Sigfried Odermatt and Rosmarie Tissi all provided graphic design services for the printing and publishing firm starting in c. 1952, most notably full-page advertisements.

A fine spiral-bound type specimen and thick black hardcover cloth with a gold foiled stamped City—Druck trademark designed by Walter Käch. A tiny mark to the front cover and light wear to a few of the tabs; otherwise fine and clean interior pages.
