Америка [America Illustrated], No. 125, March 1967. Published for distribution in the Soviet Union by Press and Publications Service, United States Information Agency (USIA), Washington, D. C.. 10.5 x 13.75, pp. 60. Russian text and English summaries.

Rare. A magazine featuring the distinctive (now iconic) symbol designed by Lance Wyman while working at George Nelson's office (1966). “I worked with George personally ... We used an adaption of the US flag for the
main symbol,” Wyman said in an interview with Unit Editions. The symbol was widely used for the USIA Exhibition on American Industrial Design touring the Soviet Union (Moscow, Kiev, Leningrad).

Excellent contents includes but not limited to: Industrial Design: U.S.A., a special thirty-six-page report timed to appear during the U.S. exhibit. The Role of the Designer in America by Ralph Caplan; Two Designers Examine their Profession by Eliot Noyes and Lester Beall; CBS with works by Director of Design, Lou Dorfsman and much more. Heavily illustrated throughout.

A very good plus original magazine with a slight bump to the lower right corner. Some foxing (and light stains) to the white areas of the front cover, mostly along the edges and margins. Well preserved and my last copy. Hard to find in any condition — would look lovely framed.
