Wood 2, Morgan Press Wood Type Specimen, n.d. [c. 1964-70]. Morgan Press Printers and Typographers, Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, USA. 8.5 x 11, pp. 156 with a plastic comb binding. Printed at Morgan Press Incorporated. Design by John Alcorn (1935–92).
“The awakening interest in early American wood-types has made this catalog possible. Up until the last few years wood-type was either burned or discarded to make way for new equipment. Today its presence can be seen in every media of typographic design. With this trend in mind the Morgan Press is offering its typographic service to those in the graphic arts who are interested in using authentic American Wood Types.“
With an Introduction, Ordering Information and richly illustrated examples of American Wood Type from 1826 to c. 1964; many collected East of the Mississippi River from Watertown, Maine to New Orleans, Louisiana.
