Neue Grafik / New Graphic Design / Graphisme actuel: International Review of graphic design and related subjects edited by LMNV: Richard P. Lohse, Josef Müller–Brockmann, Hans Neuburg and Carlo L. Vivarelli, December 1960. Walter–Verlag AG, Olten, Switzerland. 9.75 x 11, pp. 64 plus covers with German, English and French text.

Published quarterly from 1958-1965 (17 issues, 18 numbers; issue 17/18 was a double issue), Neue Grafik was the most important journal responsible for disseminating contemporary and historical Swiss functional design ideas and philosophies. The journal’s sparse cover, rigorous structure and four-column grid (which extends to the interior pages) is designed entirely of text; meant to inform rather than illustrate the issues content.

Heavily illustrated with noteworthy content: Design and Movement by LMNV and Dr. Anita Schmid and Walter Binder, A Pioneer in the Art of Photomontage: John Heartfield by Richard P. Lohse, A Logical Sequence in Graphic Design by Hans Neuburg, Designing a Commercial Catalog by LMNV, The Policy of a Museum of Industrial Design by Hans Neuburg, A Student Magazine (Ulm HfG) by LMNV, The Lettering and Design of Commercial Goods by Hans Neuburg, Display Stands for Books and Handkerchiefs by Hans Gugelot by Hans Neuburg, Two Folding Bookcases by Gerard Ifert, The Geigy Exhibition-Truck by Gerard Ifert, and Two New Geigy Packages by Nelly Rudin. Full-page advertising by Gerstner + Kutter, Olivetti and others.

A very good plus original periodical with lightly soiled white covers and a hint of wear along the margins and spine.
