Original poster published for Matter’s first, one-man major retrospective exhibition held at the A & A Gallery, School of Art, Yale University, 180 York Street, New Haven, CT., from January 16th through February 3rd, 1978. With a distinctive and expressive “M” slab-serif (in honor of Matter) printed in black, blue, yellow and red; the same as printed on the exhibition catalog’s front cover. Paul Rand wrote the admired introductory “poem” published in the exhibition catalog (not included): “Herbert Matter doesn't say much, But his silence is eloquent, As a teacher, as a film maker, as a photographer, as a designer.”
A near fine original poster with bright colors and some light ripples towards the bottom margin. Poster will be rolled and shipped in tube.
