As a magazine and a digital type foundry, \u003cem\u003eFUSE\u003c\/em\u003e challenged conventions of visual communication through radical type design and theory. Leading international designers contributed radical fonts which were distributed via \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003ediskette (and later CD-ROM).\u003c\/span\u003e It was a groundbreaking publication that explored the intersection of technology, design, language, and visual culture in the digital age. Through its provocative use of graphics, in both tangible and digital forms, \u003cem\u003eFUSE\u003c\/em\u003e was ahead of its time and continues to influence how typefaces are designed.
