Japanese Corporate Identity Capabilities Brochures [PAOS: Progressive Artists Open System]

A collection of (4) uncommon, corporate capabilities brochures and booklets from the Japanese Corporate Identity Consultants PAOS (Progressive Artists Open System). Founded by Motoo Nakanishi in 1968, PAOS became Japan's leader in corporate identity design and creative management consulting with an office in New York City.

(1) Building a New Form of Corporate Identity: Japan's CI Revolution by Motoo Nakanishi, PAOS Inc., April 1990, pp. 40, stapled booklet, printed in Japan with English text and illustrated throughout. Featuring excellent content: Why is Corporate Identity Necessary?; Japanese-Style CI: From Image Enhancement to New Business Development; A CI Case-Study: How Matsuya was Reborn; Executive Commitment to Attitudinal and Organizational Restructuring; The Basis of the Corporation: Informational Value; and Management Cannot Afford to Disregard Beauty. Translated for non-Japanese readers from a booklet originally published in Japanese by the Asahi Newspaper Company under the title “CI Kakumei”.

(3) PAOS corporate capabilities folded brochures (tri-fold, double gate fold and 4-panel accordion fold) featuring text about the history of the business, its related services and ideas pertaining to corporate identity, client list and work examples, founder and president biography, and before and after illustrated trademarks. Laid in are xeroxed diagrams (The PAOS CI Process, The PAOS CI Paradigm and The PAOS CI System Development Concept Model) and multiple copies of blank PAOS letterhead. Items from: April 1985, March 1990 and c. 1990.

Uncommon. Very good with light wear and handling. The ink from one of the diagrams which was laid-in the “Common Denominator” brochure has transferred to the opposite page; not pretty but the text is still readable. Valuable information to those interested in the study of Corporate Identity, Visual Identity Systems, CI Manuals and more.
