As a result of the advances and developments of film graphics over the years, the AGS Basel School of Design opened a Graduate Program in Film Animation beginning in the Spring of 1975. This stapled program prospectus introduces the innovate program, courses and faculty including: Film Animation: Procedure and Structuring (Peter von Arx); Abstraction in Film; Experimentation (Peter von Arx); Film Theory (Werner Jehle); Film Techniques (Peter Olpe); and Conceptual Design (Manfred Maier). Richly illustrated with full page black and white examples accompanied by explanatory course texts for each.
With a summary and handy table of required and optional courses, faculty and requirements towards the back. “Coordination of subjects increases the educational impact upon the student and affords the teacher fresh insight.” Optional courses include: Graphic Design and Photography (Armin Hofmann); Color (Moritz Zwimpfer); Lettering (André Gürtler) and Typography (Wolfgang Weingart). A fascinating document revealing the pedagogy of one of Switzerland's most important deign schools.
A very good graduate program prospectus with a light bend to the upper corner. Some handling along the edges, spine and black covers. Highly recommended!
