American Standard Plumbing Fixtures: Catalogue P50 [Ladislav Sutnar]

American-Standard Plumbing Fixtures: Catalogue P50, 1950. American Radiator & Standard Sanitary Corp., Pennsylvania, USA. 8.75 x 11.25, pp. 160. A practical and thoughtful design by Ladislav Sutnar.

A specialized industrial catalog designed to simplify the large selection of plumbing fixtures; in seven individual sections including baths, lavatories, water closets, urinals, kitchen and laundry sinks, drinking fountains, and fittings.

Sutnar’s design organizes products in a logical and functional sequence. His use of an identification system with section dividers and visual units (or pairs of facing pages designed to be self-contained) make it quick and accessible for the user to locate products, find detailed information and promote product comparison. This sophisticated visual presentation by Sutnar helped set new standards in catalog and information design, particularly in the USA. Highly recommended.

Near fine plastic spiral-bound covers with light wear to the covers, mostly along the edges. Fine interior pages with only a hint of wear; still bright, clean and easy to turn.
